Tom and Nate go to Walden Park - Book Update

Updated: 4 days ago

Text reads "Tom and Nate go to Walden Park," with illustrations of a baseball and a park scene. "Greg Luti Literary Club" is mentioned.

Here is a chapter of my upcoming book, Hit of Henry.

Tom took the intern Nate to the park where the hit happened, that is Walden Park, the park where nothing really ever happens. No games of any purpose are ever played there, and no people of any significance are ever seen there. The most that anyone ever goes to Walden Park is when they walk by it on their way to a nicer, more modern, cleaner park.

Although Tom did not know what they would find at the park, for what can you find in a place such as that, he decided to go back to the scene of the event.

The two spoke as Tom drove.

“Where are we going?” Nate asked, as he was only told that there was a destination they had to visit, and nothing more.

“Walden Park. That is where this all happened.” Tom confirmed.

“Walden Park? Now, I know you are not serious with this story. When I first heard about this, I thought that maybe there was something to this, but Walden Park…” He paused. “Nobody plays at Walden Park. The place is an absolute dump.”

“I know it is, but I can’t change the place.”
