The Creative Genius - Poem
Maybe we killed the creative genius. The one who is supposed to speak for all of us. The voice of the people. The author who walked among us. The singer who sounded like us. The smart person, who was somehow still for us. We did not kill this person through a coup of betrayal and power. Or in some elaborate assassination attempt with madness and violence. We grew. Gatsby Dies at the End - Flash Fiction
I am a pretty easygoing teacher, the kind of teacher who will look at the cover of Romeo and Juliet when the class begins and tell the kid that Romeo and Juliet die. I’d add a little note that Tybalt is kind of a jerk, and Mercutio is funny, but I get why some thought that he would kill Shakespeare. The character talks too much.
